Privacy notice
Effective 5 October 2026
Who we are
Aleksandra Wood, a registered psychologist in Perth, Western Australia, runs this website and its waiting list. This notice is both her privacy policy and the collection notice for the waiting-list form. The Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to her as a health service provider.
What we collect
When you join the waiting list we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number, if you choose to give one
- who the appointment is for (your child, yourself or someone else)
- anything you choose to write in the message box
- the date and time you submitted the form
We do not ask for a child's name or date of birth. Please don't put detailed health information in the message box.
Because Aleksandra provides psychology services, the law treats these details as health information, a kind of sensitive information. We only collect them with your consent. You don't have to give them, but without a name and an email address we can't add you to the waiting list.
Why we collect it
Only to contact you about appointments when Aleksandra's books reopen. We do not use the list for newsletters, and we never sell it. We only share it with the service providers that host this website and our email, or if the law requires us to.
This is not a client record
Joining the waiting list does not make you a client and does not book an appointment. A client record is only started if you later become a client, and you will be told how it is handled at that point.
Where it is stored
The waiting list itself is stored in Microsoft Azure's Australia East region (Sydney). The web page may be delivered through Microsoft's global network, but the details you submit go to the Australian-hosted list. This website does not use advertising cookies or analytics.
Only Aleksandra uses the list. The person who looks after the website's technical setup can access the system for maintenance, but does not use your details. When a new entry arrives, Aleksandra gets an email notification that contains no personal details.
Emails are different. Our email is provided by Google, which stores email in data centres outside Australia, including in the United States. This covers any email you send to hello@aleksandrawood.com and any email Aleksandra sends you about the waiting list. Google holds that email only to provide the service to us, under its terms. If you would rather your details stay in Australia, use the form and ask to be contacted by phone.
How long we keep it
For 12 months after you join, then it is deleted. You can ask to be removed earlier at any time.
Access and correction
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details by emailing hello@aleksandrawood.com. We will respond within 30 days. If we can't give you access, we will tell you why in writing.
If you join on behalf of a child or another family member, we collect their details from you. Please let them know you have done so, where that is appropriate.
Complaints
- Tell Aleksandra first. Email hello@aleksandrawood.com and describe the problem. She will look into it and reply in writing within 30 days, telling you what she found and what she will do about it.
- If you don't hear back within 30 days, or you are unhappy with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints/lodge-a-privacy-complaint-with-us or 1300 363 992.
